Is a picture for my tall Chinese ladyfriend Gan Ching, who is always posting photos of architectural phenomenomena, for some reason. This is a picture of what is going to be called the Chicago Spire, like the spire in Dublin escept with apartments, which means that people will be able to urinate inside it instead of at the bottom of it.
Chicago is in the United States of America. At 610 meters in height, the Chicago Spire will be the tallest building in the United States of America.
The Spire is being design by Santiago Calatrava, well-known SPANISH architect also responsible for such buildings as the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in Valencia, the Boyne Bridge in Ireland, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, and Saint Paul's Cathedral in London. It will include such groundbreaking features as recycling of rainwater and a special groundbreaker.
In addition, the apartments are espected to be the finest homes in the world, according to the promoters, Shelbourne Development Group, which are based in Dublin. Is why, of course, the building is so high: So the residents can have have beautiful things to look at from their windows instead of Chicago. Bear in mind too that company based in Dublin is going to have very different standards and definition of what constitute "finest homes in the world." For them, it probly mean no vomit or Abrakebabra wrappers in your front garden when you look out in the morning. Also probly means each apartment has a minibar.
